Monthly Dharma Study and Potluck
The first Sunday of the month is the Meditation/Study group/Potluck. Please join us! All are welcome, newcomers or any who have not come to any previous gatherings will be warmly welcomed. No previous experience in meditation required.
What we will do:
As directed by Khentrul Rinpoche, we will continue to listen to a teaching on the ins and outs of authentic Mediation practice, for about 1 hour. This teaching is extremely insightful and helpful for progressing in your practice, pointing out common flaws and obstacles which impede our development, and the remedies for them. After we listen to the teaching, we will meditate for 1/2 hour, discuss anything that may come up, and then enjoy each other's company over some very tasty food.
What to bring:
Something to sit on, if you prefer the floor. Prayers and the Bodhicitta/Tonglen text, if you have them. Food to share.
Where we meet:
We rotate among local sangha member's homes. An email notice will be sent out 1 week prior to meeting to state location.
Time: 10am-1230pm
Please email katogvajraling@gmail.com with any questions.

Unifying Shamatha & Vipashyana
“Shamatha (calm abiding meditation) is a method for pacifying the coarse, or perceptible, forms of disturbing emotions.
Vipashyana (profound insight meditation) is what pacifies these on the subtle-most levels by integrating wisdom knowledge into our practice.
This retreat will be a teaching of how to unify both shamatha and vipashyana in meditation, their meaning, as well as how to meditate correctly. This is the kind of retreat that we absolutely must do to clarify these two indispensable key points of meditation. It will infallibly bring fruition to our practice."
